And it came to pass that Sir Gilles came upon the outpost of Bluebriar and it was held by the heathens of the Black Gate. And the Lord spoke unto Sir Gilles and said unto him 'Go unto the high mountain top to the south and upon it build a trebuchet that with it thou might bombard the gate of the castle and smash it asunder'.
And Sir Gilles said 'But Lord it will take many treks up the mountain to build a trebuchet and there are no supplies nearby - for we are outnumbered and the Black Gate defend their camps jealously'. And the Lord said 'Go ye unto the Garrison in the Sea of Sorrows and there you will find all the supplies that you need and more'.
So Sir Gilles went to the Garrison and there he found five and score supplies to build a trebuchet and more.
And the trebuchet was built atop the high mountain and Sir Gilles hurled boulder after boulder at the tower gates to smash them asunder but nought came of it. And Sir Gilles felt a great sadness and cried out to the heavens 'I know not if I strike a blow against the gates for the distance is great and I cannot see'.
And a voice came from the heavens 'Your blows strike true but the task is only half done.'
And a great righteousness swelled within Gilles's heart and he began his attack again with renewed vigour.
And again a voice from the heavens called out 'Go down to the gate. For the breach is almost done and there you have allies with a ram'. And so Sir Gilles descended from the high mountain and sure enough he found allies who attacked the gate with a mighty battering ram. And the gate was smashed asunder and Sir Gilles and his allies fell upon the guards of the tower with a great wrath and slew them.
And they tore down the filthy banners of the heathens of the Black Gate and raised the standard of the Chimeara over the tower of Bluebriar.
Emboldened Sir Gilles led his allies north and crushed they all the Black Gate camps in the surrounding lands and upon each victory they raised the banner of the Chimeara so that the Black Gate would know who had done this and tremble in fear.
And the Lord spoke unto Sir Gilles and said 'Your role in these great victories has not gone unnoticed my son, look...' and a shining pillar of light descended from the heavens upon the rock before Sir Gilles and there appeared a resplendent silver chest. And in this chest a mighty axe, the Tooth of Frostfang.
But Sir Gilles was mystified by this gift. 'Oh Lord' he said 'I am not familiar with the use of a axe. It is with a sword that I smite thine enemies.' And the Lord said 'Fear not my son, this weapons is but a precursor and you shall embark on a new quest to forge its true form and in doing so you too shall be reforged into a mighty Firebrand'.
